Description
A bright, vibrant, and creamy 5-minute morning latte that combines ceremonial grade matcha with dried strawberry powder and oat milk for a mood-boosting, antioxidant-rich drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon dried strawberry powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water (approx. 175°F / 80°C)
- 1–2 teaspoons sweetener (maple syrup, agave, or honey)
- 1 cup oat milk (or almond/coconut milk)
- Ice (optional, for iced version)
- Extra freeze-dried strawberries (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl or mug, combine the matcha powder, dried strawberry powder, hot water, and sweetener.
- Whisk vigorously in a ‘W’ motion using a bamboo whisk or fork until a smooth, clump-free paste forms.
- Heat the oat milk in the microwave or on the stovetop until hot (do not boil).
- Froth the hot milk using a handheld frother or by shaking it in a sealed jar until creamy and airy.
- For a hot latte: Pour the frothed milk into the mug with the matcha paste and stir gently to combine.
- For an iced latte: Fill a glass with ice, pour in cold frothed milk, and slowly pour the matcha paste over the top to create a gradient effect.
- Garnish with crushed freeze-dried strawberries or a pinch of strawberry powder.
- Serve immediately while warm and vibrant.
Notes
Do not use boiling water for matcha as it scorches the leaves and causes bitterness; aim for 175°F. Ceremonial grade matcha is recommended for drinking to avoid bitterness. If using culinary grade matcha, increase sweetener to taste. The latte is best made fresh as matcha oxidizes quickly.
