Vegan Mango Turmeric Golden Milk Smoothie

  • Author: Lisa
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A creamy, anti-inflammatory smoothie made with frozen mango, coconut milk, and golden spices. Ready in 5 minutes, this vegan recipe provides steady energy and glowing skin benefits.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup full-fat canned coconut milk
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 medium ripe banana (frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 inch fresh ginger)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or oat milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored vegan protein powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon matcha powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep ingredients: Peel and chop fresh ginger if using. Ensure frozen mango chunks are separated. If banana isn’t frozen, slice and freeze for 30 minutes.
  2. Add liquids to the blender first: Pour in almond milk (or oat milk) and canned coconut milk to help blades spin freely.
  3. Add solids: Toss in frozen mango chunks, frozen banana, chia seeds, and protein powder.
  4. Add spices: Sprinkle in turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and the pinch of black pepper.
  5. Blend: Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Blend for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth. Add more milk if too thick, or ice/frozen fruit if too thin.
  6. Taste and adjust: Add more maple syrup or banana if too earthy, or more mango if not sweet enough.
  7. Serve immediately: Pour into a glass and garnish with cinnamon or a mango slice if desired.

Notes

Frozen fruit is essential for a thick, milkshake-like texture. Do not skip the black pepper as it increases curcumin absorption by up to 2000%. Use canned coconut milk for richness, not carton beverage. Smoothies are best fresh; if storing, keep in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours and shake well before drinking.
