Ultra-Rich Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart: 3-Ingredient Easy Dessert

  • Author: Lisa
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A simple, rich, and gooey chocolate tart made with just three main ingredients: chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. This no-crust dessert is ready in under an hour and offers a professional-quality taste with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (one standard can)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie dish or tart pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until almost completely melted. Do not overheat.
  3. Immediately add the sweetened condensed milk and butter to the warm chocolate. Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth, uniform, and shiny.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract. If adding mix-ins like peanut butter chips or nuts, fold them in now.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie dish, filling it about halfway to two-thirds full.
  6. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center should still have a slight jiggle.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on the counter for 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top while still warm.
  9. Let cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) until firm.
  10. Slice with a sharp knife and serve chilled.

Notes

Do not rush the melting process; overheated chocolate can seize. Ensure the condensed milk is at room temperature to prevent clumping. The tart tastes better the next day as flavors meld. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut oil, though standard condensed milk contains dairy.
