Fall Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam Chai Latte

  • Author: Lisa
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A cozy homemade version of the popular coffee shop drink, featuring a spiced hot chai base topped with a light, airy pumpkin cream cold foam. It offers the perfect balance of warm spices and sweet, creamy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons loose-leaf chai tea (or 4 chai tea bags)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup whole milk (or oat/almond/coconut milk)
  • 12 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (ice-cold)
  • 2 tablespoons 100% pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or vanilla syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat to low and add chai tea. Steep for 5-7 minutes for loose-leaf or up to 10 minutes for tea bags.
  2. Remove tea bags or strain out loose leaves.
  3. Pour milk into the saucepan with the tea. Heat over medium-low heat until steaming hot (around 160°F), but do not boil.
  4. Stir in sweetener (maple syrup, honey, or sugar) until dissolved.
  5. In a separate bowl or mason jar, combine heavy cream, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, sugar (or syrup), and vanilla extract.
  6. Froth the mixture using a handheld frother for 30-60 seconds until thick, airy, and doubled in volume. Alternatively, seal a mason jar and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  7. Pour the hot chai into a tall glass, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  8. Gently spoon or pour the pumpkin cold foam over the top of the chai.
  9. Garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure heavy cream is ice-cold for best foam texture. Do not use pumpkin pie filling; use 100% pure pumpkin puree. The foam should be made fresh as it loses texture quickly. For dairy-free, use coconut cream for the foam and oat/coconut milk for the chai.
