Description
A rich, creamy, and filling 5-minute breakfast shake that tastes like dessert but functions as fuel. Made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and protein powder, it keeps you full until lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 medium ripe banana (frozen, about 115g)
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (about 30g)
- 1 tablespoon smooth peanut butter (16g)
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (5g)
- 2–3 ice cubes (optional, if using fresh bananas)
Instructions
- Prep the bananas by peeling and breaking them into chunks. Freeze in a freezer-safe bag for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Add ingredients to the blender cup in this order: liquid first (almond milk), then protein powder, then frozen bananas, then peanut butter, and finally chia seeds.
- Secure the lid tightly and blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth.
- Check consistency. If too thick, add a splash more milk. If too thin, add ice cubes or another frozen banana piece.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or flavor if needed.
- Serve immediately for the best texture, as chia seeds will thicken the shake if left to sit.
Notes
For the best texture, use frozen bananas rather than fresh ones to avoid watering down the shake with ice. If using chia seeds, let the shake sit for 5 minutes to thicken, or drink immediately for a crunchier texture. This shake can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours, but will thicken significantly; add a splash of milk and stir before drinking.
